Purpose of the Multi Arts Confederation Inc.The role of the Multi Arts Confederation (of the Central Coast) Inc. is to sustain, develop and represent the movement for adequate cultural facilities in our region, and to assist in the development of a society in which art is an accepted and valued means of expression and an important part of the lives of both individuals and communities. Every form of creative endeavour is covered by the term "the Arts": Music, Ballet, Poetry, Opera, Drama, Dancing, Writing, Painting, Design, Weaving, Pottery, Sculpture. The list is endless. Not only the classical Western form but Music from tribal to electronic, dancing and corroborees to folk. Sculpture from wood carvings to plastic sheeting. With every new generation new forms of creative expression will be added to the human skills embracing the entire dynamic field of human expression. To fulfil its role the Multi Arts Confederation Aims: To stimulate and present the work of arts organisations in a spirit of cooperation and sharing in order to optimise available resources. To stimulate and enable our communities to devise and implement art projects which actively involve people in the practise, expression and appreciation of the arts and which recognise and encourage local creativity. To acknowledge the special place local government occupies as the sphere of government closest to the people and encourage local government and arts groups to work together in the development of projects and the integration of the arts into planning strategies. To enable the employment of arts projects which draw on the diversity of cultural backgrounds from which the Australian society is enriching and evolving. To promote the employment of artists who are responsive to the needs of our communities and encourage in particular more sustained and active involvement of local and visiting artists in projects that are relevant to our lifestyle and which have longer term developmental implications. To encourage and respect the moral rights of artists and art workers and their rights to adequate remuneration and working conditions. To assist the further development of the competence and capacity of arts groups in the community by providing opportunities to develop their skills.
