Gosford Bush Dance

The next Gosford Bush Dance on Saturday 10th December, will feature many Contra Dances. Contra Dancing involves pairs of dancers moving up and down the hall, dancing opposite different pairs as they progress. Contra band “‘Pastrami - on - Ryebuck” will be playing the music and Julie Bishop will call the dances. All dances are taught, walked through and called, so there is no need to be nervous if you are new to Contra dancing. The dance is at East Gosford Progress Hall, cnr Wells Street and Henry Parry Drive from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. Entry price of $18 includes a light supper. NAISDA presents ZUGUBAL

December 2 and 3 @ 7.30pm Zugubal is a breathtaking dance from NAISDA , Australia’s Premier Indigenous Dance College. Zugubal is a word used by all Torres Strait Islander people to acknowledge and give respect for past, present and future law. This exciting performance will feature Koiki by renowned Indigenous choreographer Gail Mabo, including traditional dancers from the Torres Strait. Koiki is the story of Gail’s late father, the celebrated Eddie Mabo. This contemporary form of creative expression takes up on the journey of Eddie Mabo’s life. The program will also include dynamic, new and contemporary works by some of Australia’s noted choreographers. Laycock St Community Theatre Tickets $25 Child $15.

Central Dance Ballet School

Performances will be held at Laycock Street Community Theatre at 7.30pm on 23rd December.

Gosford Scottish Country Dancers

A regular class is held on Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm at the Church of Christ Hall, Henry Parry Drive, Wyoming. No experience necessary. Cost $5 per week. Contact Jim on 4384 5185.
